LMC Industries, Inc., a growing St. Louis based automotive, agricultural, medical components, and consumer products manufacturer has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer in its Plastic Injection Molding facility. Highly visible, collaborative position working directly with manufacturing, quality, customers and development teams, and transferring new tooling, ideas and molding technologies to production. Provides expert support, addresses manufacturability issues, contributes to design decisions, sources and commissions new machinery, and recommends and implements process improvements.


  • Developing process documentation and provide training of production personnel
  • Constantly review injection molding production lines end to end implementing improvements and advancing quality systems to improve levels of reliability
  • Driving continuous improvement methods and reducing costs associated with waste, productivity, setup reductions, and other inefficiencies
  • Hands-on troubleshooting of molds, molding equipment and processes
  • Address customer quality issues
  • Managing capital equipment installation and commissioning of projects
  • Designing and implementing new technology (vision systems, robots, etc.) and performing manufacturing experiments
  • Collaborates with Quality, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, and Operations teams to achieve process, technology, operations, and quality objectives and performance goals


Must have good understanding of the following processes and procedures:

  • Automotive industry plastics injection molding experience preferred
  • Mechanical cycling
  • Short shot analysis and fill study
  • Viscosity curve and gate freeze
  • Balance of fill between cavities
  • Pressure loss through system
  • Quality inspection and critical dimension review
  • Cavity pressure transducers & pressure versus time curves
  • Secondary operations and Robotics implementation with end of arm tooling design


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • BS Degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years injection molding experience
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo to facilitate improvement
  • Demonstrated desire to stay current in best practices and be a continuous learner
  • Willingness to take full responsibility for personal safety and the safety of fellow team members
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Analytical problem solving skills ability to troubleshoot
  • Prior experience with IATF -16949 Automotive quality standard experience is preferred
  • Prior experieance in Lean Manufacturing
